For the Dig Filter, used from 2010 to the present: 1) Remove Filter Element from Filter Housing |

2) Remove the spring and pry off the holding ring with a small screwdriver. | ![]() |
3) Remove discs and clean each one with a toothbrush. This is tedious but it is the only way to get rid of encrusted algae buildup which can seriously clog the element even though it looks clean. | ![]() |
Procedure for the Arkal Filter, used before 2010, is pretty much the same. Just insert a screwdriver and twist off the holding ring. | ![]() |
